The overall objective of the given project was to implement the household Model Disability Survey (MDS) in Georgia in 2020–2021 with the specific objectives to a) estimate the prevalence of disability; b) determine the current disability distribution of the population; c) identify needs, barriers and inequalities faced by persons with different levels of disability; and d) provide the information necessary for the development of future policy priorities to improve the lives of the population with disability.
The survey aims to identify the extent of availability of assistive products for those in need; and identify the factors (e.g. age, gender, socio-economic status, geographical location, impairment type, and level of disability) related to access to needed assistive products; and evaluated the impact of assistive products on people’s overall well-being and their ability to participate in daily life as others in their societies.
