Project Description

This project is implemented within the framework of the UN Joint Programme for Gender Equality (UNJP4GE), funded by the Government of Sweden and jointly implemented by UNDP, UN Women, and UNFPA. The assignment supports UNFPA Georgia's advocacy and dialogue through rigorous, evidence-based research on the economic and structural dimensions of menstrual poverty in Georgia.

ACT Global leads the delivery of a comprehensive, policy-oriented analytical study combining fiscal analysis, inflation and price trend assessment, institutional review, and international comparative research. Key outputs include cost analysis and fiscal modelling to quantify the budgetary implications of VAT exemption scenarios for essential hygiene products, alongside an assessment of how inflationary pressures over the past five years have eroded household purchasing power. Drawing on best practices from comparable countries, the study translates international policy lessons into context-specific, actionable recommendations for Georgia.
