Project Description

The purpose of the project is to develop instructions on future scenarios on forest management and a toolbox that helps municipalities perform the necessary analyses and make data-driven choices. Thus, the project has two main parts:

1) Development of the Future scenarios on forest management, aiming to develop the detailed instructions for future scenarios of forest management, taking into account the economic, social, and ecological factors and gender mainstreaming.

2) Development of the practical “Guidebook” (physical Toolbox) and Resource book, aiming to combine six instruments in one document, designed as a practical and user-friendly resource, with a step-by-step structure, to support municipal or central government in making informed decisions on forest management.

It will help them evaluate whether it is practical and beneficial for the municipality to assume forest management rights and responsibilities. To achieve project objectives, ACT will carry out the entire implementation, including a comprehensive literature review, the design of future scenarios and toolbox, and in-depth interviews with municipal representatives and relevant stakeholders.
