Project Description

This project delivers a market research study on Georgia's Contract sector - the Business-two-Business (B2B), project-based market for furniture, furnishings, FF&E and other interior products across the hospitality, residential development, office, retail, mixed-use and public-project segments - commissioned by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) to inform the market-entry and growth strategy of Italian companies in Georgia. The assignment assesses the size, structure and growth potential of the target market, maps the forward project pipeline and the local players behind it, identifies the product categories and Italian supply segments with the greatest potential, evaluates the competitive landscape and the perception of "Made in Italy", and sets out recommended routes to market. The study also provides the analytical base and narrative for the Italian Design Day 2026 initiative.

ACT Global combines secondary and primary research. Secondary (desk) research draws on trade and production data to estimate the size of the Georgian furniture and interior design products market. Primary research complements this with a structured quantitative survey of 60 B2B professionals and specifiers - developers, architects and interior designers, general contractors and fit-out companies, hospitality operators, importers/distributors and furniture showrooms - and 30 in-depth qualitative interviews, including with institutional stakeholders and field experts.
