Project Description

This project is implemented under the Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries (PROGRESS) programme, financed by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Government of Germany and implemented by GIZ. The assignment supports the strengthening of public and private local support structures in Georgia's agriculture sector to better advise farmers and businesses on climate-oriented, resilient, and green economic practices.

The work focuses on two priority agricultural value chains: almond and blueberry, and covers cross-cutting themes such as biodiversity conservation, digitalization, circularity, gender equality, and compliance with ILO labour standards. ACT Global leads the delivery of three practical Georgian-language knowledge packages providing accessible, field-ready guidance on sustainable production practices, green interventions, and good agricultural standards. In parallel, ACT Global designs and implements a tailored mentoring and learning-on-the-job programme for 3–5 selected support structures, equipping them to plan and deliver outreach campaigns, demonstration activities, and capacity-building initiatives for the farming and business community. Through structured needs assessments, stakeholder consultations, a validation workshop, and hands-on mentoring sessions, ACT Global ensures that all outputs are demand-driven, practically applicable, and aligned with national agricultural strategies and PROGRESS objectives.
