Project Description

Within the framework of the Urban Services Improvement Investment Program funded by the Asian Development Fund, the United Water Supply Company of Georgia aims to improve water supply and wastewater services in Georgian cities. The program includes the following activities:

  • Improvement of infrastructure for the rehabilitation, enhancement, and expansion of water supply and wastewater services;
  • Strengthening institutional efficiency by improving the technical and managerial capacities of the United Water Supply Company to ensure effective delivery of water supply and wastewater services, as well as developing the capacities of sector regulators in areas such as tariff regulation, service standards, environmental protection, and ensuring long-term drinking water quality;
  • Support for program implementation.

ACT’s team provides consulting services to the Asian Development Bank within the framework of the project performance management system. The aim of this service is to ensure a full understanding of all elements of household water management and wastewater practices, as well as to inform the development of the water supply network.

As a result of the project, 356,000 households gained improved access to water supply and wastewater services
