Project Description

In the course of the project “Modernization of Vocational Education and Training (VET) system related to agriculture in Georgia (Phase 2),” the UNDP is assisting Georgia to establish a modern system of VET in agriculture and to introduce an extension system for farmers. The project was implemented in close partnership with the Georgian government, specifically the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, as well as in collaboration with educational institutions and private sector representatives.

Representatives of VET institutions received an intensive training program involving creative sessions. The goal of the two-day session was to build the capacity and further the development of VET institutions to implement new authorization standards through the allocation of small grants.

As a result of capacity-building activities, representatives of participating VET institutions overviewed their mission, the opportunities in their respective regions as well as the market demand in relation to the grant project requirements. They also brainstormed new ideas for grant proposals, taking into consideration their own capacity, resources, and sustainability.
